António Morais is a Cinematographer, photographer and teacher. He is an invited member and titular of the Portuguese Imaging Association, Independent Certified Expert (ICE) of Sony, Ambassador of Sony Imaging Europe and Fujinon Ambassador in Portugal.

He holds a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Production and Directing from the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP) and a degree in Sound and Image from the Catholic University of Portugal (UCP). He also specialized in professional photography at the Portuguese Institute of Photography (IPF), in Porto.

He has been working as a cinematographer in all kinds of audiovisual productions since 2009. Highlight: the TV series: The Asphalt Colour and the documentary Born In 48. Between 2016 and 2017 he was cinematographer for the Al Jazeera TV docuseries, Expats. Back in Portugal in 2018, he worked on multiple audiovisual productions, including: the documentary Baptismo de Terra (2017), which won the award for best cinematography at the Hollywood Women’s Film Festival (2019); Ashes (2018), short film that won the award for best cinematography at Planos – Tomar Film Festival (2018). Was a teacher at IPF and Cineworkshops in Porto. He was a lecturer in higher education between 2009 and 2021, teaching on cinematography and photography, at IPP-ESMAD (Porto), IPB (Bragança), SAE Institute (Amman, Jordan) and UCP (Porto). In 2024 he starts teaching at ESAP.
